Bloom has been reworked for the stage after recently being performed in the round to sold out audiences at The Woolshed in March 2022. It is a first for Awaken to create and perform two new works in the same year and a first to present a double bill for audiences.

We are thrilled to welcome back our original cast of Bloom and congratulate our existing and newest cast members in joining us in our latest work Automatic.

BLOOM

Bloom explores the concept of rising up to reach one’s full potential using nature as a metaphor. This piece incorporates beautiful visual choreographic representations of fields, trees, mountains and blooming flowers with stunning projections to enhance what is being performed on stage. This work was created in a three part journey from seeds and roots going deep, to growing through challenges and finally into full bloom.

AUTOMATIC

Automatic uses machines as a parallel to our human existence. This industrial themed piece explores the chaos and repetitive monotony of life in auto pilot.  There is a recognition that we all have a unique role in keeping the cogs turning as one body with many parts, whilst demonstrating the importance of relationships and the human need for solitude, stillness and rest in our fast paced world.
