Shepparton Art Museum (SAM) has one of Australia's most important collections of historical and contemporary ceramics, along with significant holdings of Australian art in all media.

It is the home of the biennial Sidney Myer Fund Australian Ceramic Award and the Indigenous Ceramic Art Award.

SAM focuses on collecting Australian art in all media (including ceramics), with a focus on contemporary and Indigenous Australian art. Recent aquisition highlights include work by Vernon Ah Kee, Patricia Piccinini, David Noonan, Tracey Moffatt, Dale Frank and Fiona Foley.

Opening Hours

Open 7 days, 10am to 4pm, public holidays 1pm to 4pm. SAM is closed Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Years Day

The Visitor Centre, located at 33 Nixon Street, Shepparton, is your first stop for information on things to see and do and where to stay while in Greater Shepparton. Providing quality information and brochures on accommodation, attractions, events and activities, the friendly staff and volunteers have the expert knowledge to make your stay in the region a memorable one.

Please note: From Tuesday 4 August 2020 the Visitor Centre is closed for walk-in enquiries. Staff are available to assist by phone, email and social media 9.00am to 5.00pm every day.
