Toby Jugs - Ceramics Workshop

Drawing inspiration from Ben Quilty’s Set of Jugs series participants will use various hand-building techniques to create Toby Jugs, a ceramics tradition popularized in the mid-1700s which depicts a jovial male figure.

This workshop is suitable for individuals with prior clay hand-building experience.

This workshop will run on the following days:
Monday 13 May, Monday 20 May and Monday 3 June, 6.00-8.00pm each day. (We skip a week between 20 May and 3 June to allow for the drying and firing of work.)

This workshop is for adults.

All works will need to be collected after the workshops have been ended to allow for a second firing. SAM staff will contact all participants four weeks after the date to collect items. All items not collected by the dated specificed in the email will be disposed of.
