Bukjeh is a visual installation and live performance set within the Kheimeh – a tent, modelled after emergency relief tents.

The Kheimeh is a key element in this work, not only as part of the visual installation, but also contributing to the performers’ and audience’s overall experience.

Live performances happen inside the tent, with audiences seated within it. The work is adaptable to site specific or Blackbox/theatre settings, as long as there is sufficient space to mount the Kheimeh.

The context and stories shared in each performance varies, depending on the location where it is set up and the community in the area.

Stories are shared through multi-disciplinary art forms – poetry, song, visual art, movement, and more.
