The Queen's Baton Relay, is a relay around the world held prior to the beginning of the Commonwealth Games. The Baton carries a message from the Head of the Commonwealth, currently Queen Elizabeth II. The Relay traditionally begins at Buckingham Palace in London as a part of the city's Commonwealth Day festivities.

The Queens Baton Relay (QBR) will pass through Shepparton on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. Estimated time of the relay is 12.50pm to 3.00pm.

 

Local Baton Bearers have been selected through a nomination process to carry the Queesn Baton in Shepparton. Shepparton is one of many stops throughout Australia on its journey towards the GC2018 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony in April.

 

To generate excitement and enthusiasm for the passage of the QBR, activities will be held along the route. Local schools, community groups and patrons will line the streets in support with banners and flags. There will also be a community celebration at held at Victoria Park Lake from 1.30 - 3.00pm with live entertainment and musical performances.
