Facing Death Creatively is a communal workshop that uses craft materials and socially-engaged processes to promote healthy and meaningful discussions about our mortality.
The workshop only takes 20-30 minutes, and involves making a miniature vessel out of a soft, biodegradable, sculpting medium. The material is non-toxic, and very easy to manipulate so all ages and levels of dexterity can participate. The vessel becomes a portrait of the maker, and a catalyst for discussing the participant’s final resting place.
The workshop was designed and facilitated by Catherine Bell during an artist in residence at Centre For The Study Of Substructured Loss: Applied Grief and Bereavement Research in London.
All welcome to attend. Communal creativity and personal/group reflection are encouraged. Limited spaces.
Times: 10.30-12 noon or 1.30-3.00pm.
Location: SAM Workshop
Bookings are essential even though the event is free. Please visit EventBrite for bookings.
