Art and culture have a unique role in regional communities, whether it be through musical groups, theatre or visual arts. Greater Shepparton is embarking on an audacious project to develop a significant art museum on the edge of the Goulburn River’s redgum forest. Housing the most significant private collection of indigenous art in the world, and with a bold design by renowned architects Denton Corker Marshall, the Shepparton Art Museum sets a course toward economic, social and cultural renewal.

A panel consisting of Carrillo Gantner AO, Chairman of the Sidney Myer Fund and a passionate advocate and philanthropic supporter of the project, Rebecca Coates, Director of the Shepparton Art Museum, and local playwright (and podiatrist) John Head will discuss the project and its place in regional development through the arts.
